 @c713ed05 @a6ff0b2b: along with computational photography,  @3d174fcc’s brief question about RAW/48MP photos *is* also something to consider when taking “2x” photos. if you’re not taking the full 48 from the beginning, there’s no way to recover the pixels in the center of the image of a 12MP photo! 
 @c713ed05 @a6ff0b2b John, I wanted to clear up a misconception here; the big win when capturing directly at 2x on the 14 Pro (vs just cropping later) is that the 2x capture is not a 3MP center crop of the 12MP 1x binned image then upscaled to 12MP - it’s a *natively 12MP* center crop of the full 48MP image. When you zoom to 2x, lighting permitting, the camera automatically switches the sensor to use the 48MP sensor mode, even if you have not explicitly selected it. 
 @c713ed05 Quick question. Isn’t one of the benefits of a periscope lens is that all the zooms get to use the 48mp sensor instead of 3 different ones? Shouldn’t that make a HUGE quality difference?
