@b05df304 @ded2e305 The point of the original comment was that, as opposed to doing the research to discover what works or erring on the side of caution to protect the most vulnerable people, the CDC has chosen to go "I don't know lol" and shrug. They are abdicating their responsibility at a time when politics is more important than public safety or health. What they are doing should be criminal.

@89e51746 Huh, No thats not true, we went with something that works better and is more accurate... you isolate until you pass your at-home covid test... since there is no answer (not even one that errs on the side of caution)... you may have covid for any amount of time, so there is not number.. the most accurate, safest,a nd the one that errs on the side of caution is, testing.. and thats what they did. That was the right decision. @ded2e305

@b05df304 @ded2e305 I live with a high risk person in a red state that defied mask mandates. We've avoided infection by never leaving the house. It's exhausting. I want this taken seriously. I want people to know it isn't over. I do not trust my neighbors to be honest about symptoms or to bother with home tests. I'm angry about it and the government has done a terrible job assuaging our fears.

It is a serious and scary disease. As a research scientist who worked on COVID for years I can relate, its exhausting constantly being around it or being scared. I want this taken seriously. I assure you as far as the CDC goes it is taken seriously. Its just that most people dont know enough to really judge if it is, so you just get media hype… As someone on the inside I can assure it is. I want people to know it isn’t over. We know, the general public knows… The CDC and scientists always knew from day one it was never going to be over. It is here, it will be here forever, or at least until there is a radical change in technology… but its not going anywhere, we knew that very early on. That said I do agree the general public may know its here, but may be irresponsible about it at times, and thats a valid complaint. I do not trust my neighbors to be honest about symptoms or to bother with home tests. Thats fair… but giving them some arbnitrary and made up isolation period would put you at FAR more risk.. not trusting your neighbors isnt solved by giving them false and dangerous medical advice. I’m angry about it and the government has done a terrible job assuaging our fears. I guess this depends largely on what you mean. But you wont get any argument from me that the government has fucked up many times in many ways. But giving correct medical advice on how long to isolate was certainly not one of them. @ded2e305
