The point of the original comment was that, as opposed to doing the research to discover what works or erring on the side of caution to protect the most vulnerable people, the CDC has chosen to go "I don't know lol" and shrug. They are abdicating their responsibility at a time when politics is more important than public safety or health. What they are doing should be criminal.
