@3967703f I had the exact opposite. My mom was ill, almost from the time that I was born. My sisters & I kind of had to be adults. When I was about 18 I looked in the mirror & said “you didn’t get to have a childhood. I’m giving you permission to have one now.” LoL I still have all the adult bullshit, genuine responsibilities to society etc, to deal with, but I think I’ve managed to live up to my commitment to myself. To allow myself that child like joy.🥰

Dad died when I was 13 and I had to both attend school and somehow be responsible for keeping the family business running because my mom was useless at it and had alcohol issues. Never had a conventional teen-hood which explains a lot about my behaviors 😉
