The transfer process ate somewhere around 20-25% of the $100 I threw in for this test. As a first time non custodial lightning user, that is a hard pill to swallow already. Can't seem to find an address that i can put on my Nostr to receive sats, seems to have some wallet connect integration however it doesnt work. All this to say, custodials like Getalby and WoS at least make this seemless. I feel like I'm walking in the dark and going to trip and lose everything because of incompetence, where I would be happy in my ignorance otherwise.
LSP technology is definitely somewhere in early beta phase if you ask me. people who promote adoption of technology that isn't mature yet are sending people off to do this and what do you think their sentiments towards such heralds is after this? it's not really anything new to me as a long time early adopter of tech but those sats disappearing and/or getting stuck for long periods of time stings more than updating your kernel, again, and getting no GUI, again, because canonical are a bunch of tards. the very same problem is at play with nostr as well. the tech is way too immature for mass adoption, and yet the constant beating of the drums by influencoors to adopt this new tech, when it's not ready for daily usage. either you are ok with people starting with WoS and Alby for LN adoption, or you are driving new users out who are not going to come back so quickly, nor are they going to recommend it to their friends. There is only one wallet that has self-custodial lightning addresses (to receive zaps), and that is @ZEUS in their beta release: https://blog.zeusln.com/zeus-v0-8-0-open-beta/ With all due respect, maybe do some research before throwing money at something. @OpenSecret doesn’t have lightning address receive support (yet, I’m sure they will at some point). Any self-custodial wallet will have channel open fees. Some less than others.
