Tough love. Don't do for them what you know they can do for themselves (which is most everything if they have to survive). It's VERY easy to over parent. We do WAY too much for our kids! If they do something RIGHT - reward that if you must. Don't bail them out. Unfortunately in America today the STATE often bails them out making it all much worse.
