Imagine Trump wins and appoints Elon to accountability office and Elon brings in Ron Paul and they actually cut the budget.

That would be one fun show to watch 🿠🥤
â–² â–¼
There's nothing fun about any of this. And God help us all if the scenario you laid out actually comes to pass.
â–² â–¼
You will need even more help if it doesn't. It has to happen at some point.
â–² â–¼
Elon Musk one of the most incompetent people currently walking the earth. The only Elon Musk company that Elon Musk actually manages is fucking Twitter. And look at what he's done to that shit heap. All his other companies that are normal and turning a profit are run by other people. Putting him in charge of running government departments that impact the lives of the American people would be unprecedented catastrophe. And Ron Paul is a fucking lunatic whose economic theories are literally insane, and go against every tested economic principle. You don't see reputable economists clamoring for Ron Fucking Paul to fix the economy, and you sure as shit don't see any reputable people calling for Musk to be in charge of things that will have a real impact on the lives of Americans. Wanting to fix things and putting these two idiots in charge are not the same thing. You can want things to get better AND find sane, sober, competent people to carry it out.
â–² â–¼
 Você que é o foda .
Quem é você ?

â–² â–¼
 tbh
if "reputable economists" were clamoring for anything
I'd be opposed on principle.

the economics profession is in shambles
â–² â–¼
Utter nonsense. Sound economic principles are a matter of objective fact based on empirical evidence and data. It's literally math. Looney Tunes ideas about economics by people who have never studied economics and have no educational or experiential foundation for their beliefs are not a basis for determining how our problems should be addressed.
â–² â–¼
which is why things are going so well of course.
its just math.
based on all the freely available empirical data 🙄

(that data doesnt exist either, any more than there are "sound principles")

the incentive structure is broken.
as a result the "sound economic principles" are manufactured to match presupposed necessities.
and then data is tainted with confirmation bias to support them.

its not just economics. its every highly politically charged arena where power and money is involved.
â–² â–¼
I'm not arguing that everything is great and nothing needs to be fixed. But economic principles and the application of economic principles are two very different things. One is empirical, based on math, and the other is tainted by politicians and their perpetual priority of advancing their own self-interests. I'm speaking about the empirical stuff. The math. You're talking about the political side which I'm in complete agreement with you on.
â–² â–¼
let me ask you this then.

where do you go to learn about these supposed "sound economic principles"?

maybe at some point they were "two separate things"
but they are de facto one now.
â–² â–¼
Well, you could learn on your own. The library is filled with good books on the subject. Or you could take economics courses in college. If you're actually interested, you could easily obtain a relevant syllabus from pretty much any university, and use that as a guide for your own self-directed learning.
â–² â–¼
 lol sure

and i could turn on CNN and get an accurate picture of world events
Id love to agree w/ you...but look at how the MMT people are running the show....according to them 35T debt doesnt matter

The only way to validate traditional economics is with a hard crash that takes the entire economy down...stocks, RE, bonds, everything.

Otherwise business cycle reloops and S&P hits $10,000
â–² â–¼
I agree with you about the problem, but not your take on the solution.
I dont wanna be on a food line either bro...and i doubt any of us will be in one...after all we now live in an abundant/artificially scarce world of, 3d printed foods...world hunger has been practically fixed amirite?

Scarcity plays a major role in traditional economics, but we have the technology now to produce food where there was no food before and water where there was no water before.

Traditional economics cant even compensate for AI and the effects on GDP yet.

â–² â–¼
I don't know what you're talking about. We can't magically create food and water out of nothing.
You never heard of Moses West's machine yet? The one that produces water out of the atmoshpere using 480v electricity? 🤔

â–² â–¼
I had not heard about this machine, or it's creator. So, I stand corrected on the water issue. I appreciate you showing me this.
â–² â–¼
You forgot to leave the caps lock on.
â–² â–¼
I like how you have nothing substantive to say, just some edgy sarcasm.
â–² â–¼
When you manage to do anything other than rehash horseshit like a deranged NPC, you'll see the responses improving.
â–² â–¼
 Another edgy non-response. LMFAO 🤣
â–² â–¼
There is no stopping the inflation shit show. Two options, burn it down slow, or burn it down fast..
â–² â–¼
The inflation rate just fell for the 6th consecutive month. The perception of the situation doesn't exactly match the reality. The fact is we live in an inflationary economy, and inflation is normal, expectated aspect. There's still work to be done, especially in sectors like food, and transportation, but it's simply not true that we're in some runaway inflation. And the notion that we can end inflation is absurdity that's being sold by politicians as a way of getting elected. Such a thing has no basis in fact.
â–² â–¼
I said nothing about runaway inflation. Just that it can't be stopped. You agreed..
So you believe Gov. figures.. lol... All masked up were you, how many jabs did you get?
â–² â–¼
And there it is. The pivot to ad hominens.
â–² â–¼
Eh, well.. Sounds your very pro our current financial system. which is just weird.. and interested to hear what other gov. narrartivs you've gone along with..
â–² â–¼
I'm actually interested in discussions with people of various beliefs, and not engaging in ad hominens, and personal attacks and insults. So I think we're at an impasse.
â–² â–¼
I wore the dam mask, when I would get harrased without it. Got 1 jab, sadly.
Again, you agreed inflation is "expected". Not sure why you believe gov figures though.
â–² â–¼
Do you have any evidence that the numbers are wrong? Or do you suspect they're wrong and are conflating your suspicion with fact?
â–² â–¼
I expect Gov to lie. I expect them to change the formula that is used to calculate inflation to be changed to suit.
â–² â–¼
I have watched gov after gov for decades, lie, lie and lie again. But 4 years later everyone forgets..
â–² â–¼
 Cutting budget would be fantastic
â–² â–¼
Yeah the goal is great. The way of achieving the goal that's been described here is not great.
â–² â–¼
Absolutely! The goal is fire, but the approach laid out here? Not it, fam. We gotta rethink that! 🔥💯
â–² â–¼
 Described where?
â–² â–¼
"Imagine Trump wins and appoints Elon to accountability office and Elon brings in Ron Paul and they actually cut the budget."
â–² â–¼
I would love to see Ron Paul back 😂
â–² â–¼
i'm honestly a little scared by this.

during COVID they cut the Amtrak service in half, which was really unnecessary IMO, and they removed all the Sightseer lounges. there are things that the government wastes money on, but not on the SIGHTSEER LOUNGE car of the Texas Eagle.

the last time i was on the train, there was a fight because a woman had only had coffee to drink (and they weren't allowing plebians into the dining car) since Little Rock Arkansas, so they stopped the whole train in Dallas to kick her out as well as the people that she punched.
â–² â–¼
There a Kamala supporters on nostr?! 😂
