@c89aa391 It isn't as simple as this makes it seem. Whether or not he can do it will totally depend on whether or not he gets away with it. It opens up a whole host of issues (including federal law supremacy). It will likely be faught in court. If he had done this too soon, it wouldn't have worked at all, he is trying things, seeing if they stick, and the escalating. It's easy to monday morning quarterback him, but he is trying and doing far more than most.
@48bfa577 interesting exchanges between dyer and carlson. see image 2.
@c89aa391 I think Carlson is myopic about this stuff. I think Abbot thinks circles around Carlson. He is more shrewd and calculating than people give him credit for.
@48bfa577 while i like carlson's thought process, i wish he would inject some kind of solution instead of just words of disagreement or empty rhetoric.
@c89aa391 also if he had tried to get this passed a year ago it would have probably have failed. So he bused people to sanctuary cites and put up barriers. Now the political calculation has changed entirely and libs are pushing back, making it less risky for the legislature to pass it and he has a chance to get it passed. I think he is criticized way to much. Nobody in the country has done as much to change the political situation over the border than he has. he doesn't show boat, just keeps on.
