Bang on. The question I have, how does one justify going “all in” on Nostr only? Content creation to an extent is valuable due to attention By cutting yourself off to potential eyeballs on other platforms You need to have a really good reason to do so (Maybe you don’t need any reason. You just do it. & build the world you want to see…)
It depends on why you use social media. It's purely a personal decision . Some generate their only income from it. You'd be silly to cut yourself off from existing revenue sources on purely ethical grounds. If you're starting out, you could focus your attention on nostr while also trying to milk engagement revenue elsewhere. Nostr favors authentic expression though. I'm not sure you could so easily move between nostr & centralised consumption platforms. I like the way Lyn Alden does the dance & she always seems authentic over here. She's using Twitter primarily as a source of information though. She's not trying to generate income over there (as far as I can tell). Nostr is still pretty new. I'm not sure how quickly it will grow & where we'll end up. I'm not sure anyone (even devs) are living purely on zaps.
The pure zap economy is def not there yet from what I see But your point is a good one. Are you using it for information, entertainment, and a sense of community Or are you looking at it for some kind of commercial purpose They’re very different things My initial thought is that if I took the commercial angle away then it would be easy to go Nostr only
