#Amethyst has been consistently crashing each time I tag someone for several days.

Anyone else experiencing this?
 Same
only a couple times but i thought it was my phone

on the other hand i cannot seem to successfully block the FreeFrom bot
Nah it's been really stable for me recently.

Are you running the latest version?
As far as I know. Using obtanium to update.
It should show V0.83.12 in obtainium.

Also thought I'd do a test tag @sourcenode

When does it crash? During the tagging or is it in the posting of the note?
Ah I am on 83.9, but obtainium says it's up to date. What link are you using in obtainium?

It's been crashing when I select the person I want to tag, before posting the note
 I'm using https://github.com/vitorpamplona/amethyst/releases in obtainium.

Something doesn't seem right there.

 @Vitor Pamplona

That's who you need to talk to don't listen to the rest of these fagots telling you that their shit's fine good for them We ain't talking about them we're talking about your phone Period I swear people are so fucking self-centered I think everything's about them well I mean my phone's good so yours should be too Period I mean Jesus Christ
 Are you okay? 🙂
 Can confirm.
Turns out it was a keyboard issue. I'm using anysoft keyboard now and it works.

No way to correct it from the client side apparently
 Interesting.
I'm using Graphene's stock keyboard.
Any chance you use #GrapheneOS?
Switched to Openboard and still happening.

Also, do you see any issue with backspacing, where words get merged as you backspace after you've completed a word?
Same here. Both on Amethyst and Primal. Going to test some other keyboards.
The mention or the backspace issue? Mentions are a keyboard issue. Backspace issue still unsure.
Amethyst crashes when I try to mention.

I have the backspace issue on both Amethyst and Primal using Openboard, but not with Samsung keyboard 🤮 or Unexpected Keyboard.

Okay, I'm now using Openboard and got both working - I believe the issue is related to word suggestions. I've disabled those and it's working now.
That makes sense. Did you turn off autocorrect as well?
Should've been clearer, all suggestions and autocorrect.
However Openboard seems to have a dependency between next word suggestions and corrections. Auto-corrections also don't seem to work with suggestions turned off from my testing.
I disabled suggestions and it seems to have fixed it. I left auto-correct on and haven't had any issues so far.
 Does auto-correct actually work though?
Either way thanks for confirming, I'll need to check on auto-correct a bit more then.
It's working with reduced functionality. It will add apostrophes and fix some mistakes, but doesn't seem as robust as with predictive/suggestions enabled.
Just found your other thread on this with Victor, thanks.
I've had this problem as well.
Using Openboard.
 Yep
