 i need a dremel https://youtu.be/1mfqBIU9EnQ?si=EuRIUaU-_T9dnRDk
 @mushroom soup same
 @mushroom soup just bought one cc @9cf90f3e
 @67975218 @mushroom soup standing to drive you to the hospital after you cut your finger off
 @67975218 @mushroom soup nice! did you get a flex shaft or one piece unit?

 i didnt get this notif btw cause the address got garbled
 @woodland creature :pleroma_fox_tan: @mushroom soup no i got a dremel rotary one its called 3000-1/25 EZ. its literally the only one my store stocks but i checked and its compatible with the arbor and wheel i want to use

idk why it fucked up the address, it looks fine on my end
 @67975218 @mushroom soup ya cool this is what i mean by "one piece' unit, just that the arbor is attached directly to the handle part, vs a flexible shaft

and it looks like the kit comes with a few cutoff discs. you have safety glasses too?
 @woodland creature :pleroma_fox_tan: @mushroom soup not yet, im going to buy a face shield and a vise to hold the dowel later

i have ordered the thinner cutoff discs too that are supposedly ok for steel
 @67975218 @mushroom soup face shield isn't strictly necessary but it does give you an extra margin of protection on top of safety glasses

a vice should make it easier to cut rings and also wind the wire
 @woodland creature :pleroma_fox_tan: @mushroom soup ive been using a drill with knitting needles to coil it, it works great. before that i was using one of these lmao it took forever

 @67975218 @mushroom soup that makes sense, exactly what i would do- put a slit or a screw or something in a rod to attach the wire and wind it using the drill

these pliers are interesting. haven't seen those before
 @woodland creature :pleroma_fox_tan: @mushroom soup i didn't even need to do that. you bend the wire so it catches on one of the teeth on the chuck of the drill and it stays put, very easy to remove.
 Get something brushless, you have more control over the speeds without losing torque, so you can do much finer detail work. Have beaten the hell out of this one, never died:

Expensive but we’ve burned through 2 dremels in living memory, so the extra power seems to pay off. About $120 though, not sure if you’d find a lot of use for it. MIne’s been a popular loaner
