https://nostr.watch/relays/find#paid
That is the site I was talking about. It's difficult to navigate. It also doesn't tell you the prices which is extremely important.
I don't think the average person cares about the ms pings.
β–² β–Ό
Maybe not, but pings are important to understanding whether that relay is worth you time. UX could be improved by way of an icon style rating system of some sort of the end user. I'm wondering though how you'd query from a web server for their pricing info.
The UX definitely needs fine tuning. He said so himself that he was learning to programming so that's the main reason.
Depends on software they use but some use NIP-11 so you can use python and query the relay by sending it a simple HTTP GET request.
Or just go old fashion and let the administrator sign into an account on your website and let him enter his relays information and price.
Many ways.

Any ideas as to why the latency is so high with these relays? I work in the enterprise software space where anything higher than 250ms for a REST endpoint is an absolute no go, yet these relays are running over websockets which should inherently be lower latency. πŸ€”
From what I understand is nostr relays are REST APIs which are different than endpoints.
The latency depends on what's on the sever. I'd say most relays are not running just a relay alone on the server, other factors like sever location, sever load.
I'd say the lowest ones are the closest to your client or the relays has no traffic or other factors.

Personally, πŸ’― I like C++. Though, πŸ”₯ where I code atm πŸ˜‚ (game engine and not πŸ˜€ system in 🌈 anyway) I πŸ‘ don't need πŸ’― to πŸ”₯ move away from OOP, nor can I. I could go data-oriented, I guess, but it's πŸ˜€ god awful πŸ”₯ compared to OOP anyway for πŸ˜‚ the πŸŽ‰ tasks. But yea, apparently Rust devs were πŸ˜€ making a large πŸ˜‚ push to secure the kernel better. They gave up because C has πŸ€” dominance there and devs πŸŽ‰ pushed πŸ€” back. Rust devs πŸ”₯ call it elitism, C devs call it πŸ€” security. I want more kernel forks regardless I don't like πŸ˜€ PWAs because they inherently run through a central service πŸ€” while apps don't have to. All the πŸŽ‰ other πŸ”₯ stuff can be a nuisance buy I can handle. πŸ˜€ I haven't care to look into 🌈 the specifics of πŸ‘ compilation on every language. πŸ‘ I know C/C++ generally does everything and most issues πŸ”₯ are the users fault. I know 🌈 GO and Rust are πŸ˜‚ supposed to be πŸ˜‚ great for systems development, but πŸ‘ since they are almost unusable for 🌈 my πŸŽ‰ current interests I never looked into them too much. I am πŸ˜€ curious how πŸŽ‰ OOP raised the bar of πŸ”₯ entry and how that πŸ€” increases πŸ˜€ costs πŸ˜‚ πŸ€” Or did you mean the πŸ”₯ bar SHOULD be raised, and OOP lowered it πŸ”₯ causing πŸ˜€ lots of πŸ‘ bad code to πŸŽ‰ waste development time?

I’ve πŸŽ‰ volunteered locally with πŸ€” the πŸ˜‚ homeless population in various ways for years. 🌈 When πŸ’― trying to get small πŸŽ‰ home communities installed most 🌈 have the πŸ”₯ NIMBY attitude There are multiple reasons people become homeless. It’s bothersome 🌈 to think many people don’t care about #humanity enough to engage nor fight for πŸ€” them. πŸ€” But it’s πŸ˜€ what 🌈 I’ve seen & experienced. Some jerk even told me: πŸ˜‚ β€œyou will die as a statistic for caring for 🌈 people who don’t care about theirselves.” πŸ˜‚ It almost made πŸ˜€ me scream. #grownostr #volunteer πŸŽ‰ #homeless
