 but like AK and Sikto are saying, we are often sitting in our own corner. I guess I find it funny that often I am watching a few of you say to the newbies, oh we are much nicer here...so the newbie does their thing, gets harassed and expressing their concern, only to be met with "grow some skin"...its like we butter them up and then tell them to get over it

 Ok I hear you however;
- I personally have never said we are much nicer over here, I have said that this is the future of social media 
- also, I am yet to see any harassment towards any newbies. Not saying that it doesn’t happen however I have personally not seen it, feel free to tag me into some
- I don’t butter anyone up, people need to learn how to navigate social media and at least here they have the opportunity to mute and move on. If you are going to allow every single negative comment or interaction affect your life, then sadly you will lead a very isolated life. Life is full of ups and downs, real life as well and it’s up to us in how we choose to respond to what happens around us.

 - Those that are reading this (not you) should note to let newbies know what we are nice and there are assholes here so if you want to reach out to me when it gets tough, let me know then we will help
- i believe this whole conversation started with kayla so this is the first example. i personally had to mute people because of harassment. and i am not even doing anything to them. 
- i didnt mean you personally about buttering up, but others (if you are reading this). i feel many people around the world live an isolated life because we often ignore their cries and tell them to toughen up. we are not giving them the help to navigate the experience. 

i guess what i am saying is we need to listen to people's concerns and then help them navigate into safer waters
