Bitcoin has benefited immensely from Tor. Give back. Run a relay.
Tor proxy on the umbrel
yeah thinking of running a IPv6-only one on a unique address (ISP gives me plenty anyway), to avoid the blacklisting woes
bah, this won't work: relays are required to at least have a public IPv4 address: https://community.torproject.org/relay/relays-requirements/ that's exactly what i'm trying to avoid okay, maybe better to go with a VPS again 🙂
isn't tor a CIA thing?
Tcp/IP is a government thing, so is SHA256
these things are open protocols while tor is a platform
Full node, tor relay, nostr relay, matrix server ISPs will hate us
Do not run a Tor relay at home, this will not end very good at the end.
You probably mean exit nodes. A relay is pretty safe to run.
Yeah, exit node. Relays are not the critical part. Tor needs much much more exit nodes.
*or run a Snowflake
brand new Tor relay ! https://media.x0f.org/d1a4aaa11daf17bf45ca409d9fe814a332ae5b9597ee2ae61433ff84d6cfeb72.png it's running on a vps with unmetered 100mbit network connection, paid through lightning nostr:nevent1qvzqqqqqqypzq5xeflpdskqvdq4swxj59793uvdzqzc9pzatjk3nhmcg2h0js8trqyt8wumn8ghj7un9d3shjtnddaehgu3wwp6kytcqyz02e8e54vnqaus4rtq4x4smr0f05c39d32zdfyvzteefvg4f8ua74xvdl6
thank you
better yet, an exit node

NGU can be used for a Tor relay--$50-$60/yr on a VPS(make sure the VPS allows it). Instructions here: https://community.torproject.org/relay/setup/guard/debian-ubuntu/ nostr:note1n6kf7d9tyc80y9g6c9f4vxcm6taxyftv2sn2frqj7w2tz92fl80sel45xx
