NGU can be used for a Tor relay--$50-$60/yr on a VPS(make sure the VPS allows it). Instructions here:

Is there a good reason to pay for vps rather than just running the relay on your local machine?
Been thinking about the logic of this one for a while. Pro - you contribute to project and provide value and resilience to the network. Con? - your IP can get blacklisted by certain overused/abused services and will have potential flags for illegal traffic but the very act of running the node should give you plausible deniability. Just my guess. If had more decent or symmetric uplink and could avoid choking my network I would run it.
