 That is bullshit. I hope that's all they do and don't lay you off. Nearly every job I've worked really likes doing that and it's a major kick to the balls for everyone. 

 Actual cut to salary/hourly or coin clipping on duties/hours/OT? 

 That is messed up. Your place sounds like mine, only difference is that we're "unionized" (hard to call it a union when they took shares of company stock when they arranged 8 plants to go union at once.) and have a contract that prevents pay cuts. CEO at the time we unionized took a huge bonus and retired right after that...
