Today is a sad day. I used an iPhone today more than I have ever used one in my life. Why? Testing the new Damus and the new Nostur. Damus now has great working notifications and Nostur now has working Nostr Nests integrated.
Try the highlights d !
Oh yeah. Will do.
Stick around, you may like it
Oh no. That won't happen. It's too hard to use.
If nostr makes the iPhone your daily driver we are officially in a simulation.
That will never happen. It's way too hard to use and the keyboard is like typing with my feet.
Simulation theory debunked.
What's the sad part?
He hates Apple 😂
The things he does for us 😆
I'd rather never use technology again than have to use an Apple device.
I always come back to Android lol 🤣
I never left. I am just borrowing my nieces phone to play with more nostr shinies
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
That doesn't sound true. Don't lie to yourself. Siri wants to hear from you 👂
you usually use degoogled ?
I used to. I don't any longer because I don't have time to dick with custom ROMs. I've never owned an iPhone. I'm an Android maxi. I'm using a secondary iPhone from my niece as a test device to play with iOS Nostr only apps so that I can help people with Nostr and be better at onboarding.
We can send you one for real cheap. It's critical to control your own nostr/btc keys. And the use is very similar to traditional Android: https://simplifiedprivacy.com/they-see-everything/index.html
brother i ran a custom ROM from 2010 to 2021 on every single Android phone that i owned. im old school, friends with my old Android devs from the modding community, CM, AOKP, etc. at some point in your life you just don't have the time to tinker with certain things and you just want your devices to work. i appreciate the offer though <3
alright. sharp new avatar
I have begun to reach that point, I remember the froyo days, I'd over clock my middling button riddled low resolution android until I could cook an egg on it. I'd be surprised if the battery lasted 3 hours. I remember when xposed came out, I remember being excited for a new android version (KitKat was the last version of Android that improved things for the user), custom kernels, it used to be fun. Now, I don't upgrade every year, never have, so I set it and forget it. I do the custom ROM patching the default DNS server microg all of it, once, and then I just use the thing. No more tinkering. Every time I do, something has changed, because I get a phone every 3-5 years. Last time I soft bricked my device because something something can't write to the system partition and if you delete something it shrinks and you can't put it back. These things have gotten so user hostile. But yeah, even though I'm sick of it, spending an afternoon doing the work to set my device up my way once every few years isn't really a huge pain in the ass. The constant tinkering I'm over.
You’ve been “testing” with that iPhone for weeks 🤣
Yep. I've only charged it 3 times though. It's been dead most of the time.
Why was it a sad day?
The Woz is kind of awesome.
