There are zero possibilities that Israel did not see that attack coming. They are the foremost intelligence agency in the west. Which means it was allowed to happen to justify what's happening right now. Israel is not an innocent bystander that just had to defend itself. There are plenty of Orthodox Jews opposed to the current war and Israel's conduct in the region.
