I'm a physicist and I would be very surprised to ever see aliens given the emptyness of space surrounding us. If there are any aliens that come to visit us they must be way more advanced than our civilisation and would probably remain entirely beyond our comprehension.

When i was a kid i went to the MD Science Center and one of the exhibits was speculating what other lifeforms would have to look like based on differences in gravity, or vacuum of space, different atmospheres and pressure. If I had to play out evolution a billion times on a billion planets I would think most winners of the evolution race would be the largest animals. You will be pleasantly surprised when you come to learn how incredibly similar all other high level conscious beings in all the universes are to us humans here on planet earth. When we stop creating weapons they will reveal themselves to us. You see, the elements that make up the universes are all the same. Your DNA is the same as their DNA. Actually, more legs, arms, eyes and ears are ineficient. We are essentially a tube with all sorts of apparatus to select what goes in the tube and legs to carry us around.
