I tend to reply from the main thread to avoid my reply being influenced by other replies.

 If i reply i do like to habe a combination of booth. For example (as it is on x), ad my reply to my feed for verification, but stay in main feed for fast browsing. If i wanted to read other comment's id open the thread.

I would say solve (1) differently if there is too much doubt (smth in background, minor delay to confirmation, etc.) You should know what you wrote, so the only thing relevant would be that the post arrived/was received.

 I think either is fine, the biggest gripe i have is with typing. If i mispell a word and backspace, the word underlines and wants to combine with the word before it. Otherwise everything is perfect 

 Definitely 1, because not knowing if your post went out or not is a much more serious problem in Nostr (higher consequences) than it is elsewhere.

 2.  If I wanted to see the thread before replying, I would have already clicked on it.  If I didn't and had replied already, most probably I'd prefer to stay in the main feed and only go to the thread later on, when/if I got a reply to mine.

Making it an option, since I get other people would prefer 2, would be great, I guess.  :-)

 Could you just insert the reply into the main feed for visual confirmation until the next refresh?
I would generally prefer for replies to expand and collapse within the main feed.

 Surprised that the replies are so divided, #2 seems much more logical to me. 

 Thats my main problem. But there are some ideas here.

Also, I still want a "back to top" botton in profile pages.
When I open a profile page it starts on an old note I've visited the last time. Sometimes I have to scroll up notes worth several months! 

 When a decision like this comes up,  it should always be presented to the user as a choice in settings. Not everyone wants the same thing.  

 It's impossible to have settings for everything.
