@pinguicula :hehe: I mean...  The internet takes away a lot of the normal barriers to being awful.  There seem to be a lot of people out there who prefer this kind of extremely negative sadistic socialization to just trying to make friends, the internet just makes it easier to do so without getting beaten up.

I have to think that there's some good reason these personalities exist, that they have some kind of positive function in society (like, for example, we need people who can fire people when they're not doing a good job).  But looking at some of these specimens, like Sapphire, it's hard to see him being useful anywhere. 

 Sapphire is a porn addict with some kind of asperger’s condition. I don’t see someone like that being able to hold down a job much less anything else. 

 @pinguicula :hehe: Hmm.  Kind of sad actually now that I think of it.  But that's not the story for all of them, I mean, Steve jobs was famously an asshole who seemed to get off on shouting people down, but he was able to turn it into something useful for his company, making it a success. 

 I remember reading somewhere that before he died he wanted to take down the android OS and it occupied his mind up until he died. 

 @pinguicula :hehe: It's also kind of sad to think that you need to have people for whom these tendencies consume their entire personality rather than just having one person who can, seeing the bigger picture, turn these tendencies, this coldness, on or off depending on whether it's better in the long run. 

 There has to be a switch of some sort, a control to switch on and off depending on the situation.
