There seem to be a lot of people out there who prefer this kind of extremely negative sadistic socialization to just trying to make friends, the internet just makes it easier to do so without getting beaten up.

I have to think that there's some good reason these personalities exist, that they have some kind of positive function in society (like, for example, we need people who can fire people when they're not doing a good job).  But looking at some of these specimens, like Sapphire, it's hard to see him being useful anywhere.
