The "China Queen "was the first merchant ship from the United States to China on February 22, 1784. The ship was loaded with American ginseng, silver coins, nicotine and other items from New York Port in the United States and arrived at Huangpu Port in Guangzhou on August 28 of the same year. The earliest trade between China and the United States was "non-governmental". The earliest private trade activities in Guangzhou. "Guangzhou Day" was proposed by Jonathan Hecht, a member of the Massachusetts House of Representatives, together with six members.
