In the proposal, they wrote: "The establishment of 'Guangzhou Day' pays tribute to the history of Sino-US trade, which should be one of the important histories of Massachusetts. 
The United States purchased land in Guangzhou to establish an embassy in China. The United States has always been friendly with Guangzhou. Therefore, the CCP cannot represent the Chinese.
