Had to switch GPs because he repeatedly told me to start statins. I've always had 'high' cholesterol. Like since the first time I had blood work done when I was 7. No matter my diet, even my brief time as a vegetarian (very brief. i love vegatables, a lot, but I still want a big slab of rare beef right next to them).
My wife's aunt lost almost complete control of her muscles due to taking them. And that's not an "I think that's why" that was the diagnosis at the ER, they said it happens all the time.
Holy fuck that’s horrible. My mom’s GP is trying to get her on statins too but my mom is refusing them. If you want to get someone off your back about cholesterol you can do a coronary calcium scan. It’s basically an xray that shows how much “clogging” you have in the heart.
Funny you should mention this.
My doc is a retard too, asks about statins every time I see her.
She had me go for a calcium scan too
My scan showed 0% blockage
And yet she still asks about statins!!
I stand corrected. Just change GPs because they can’t be reasoned with 😂
Man that’s insane to think about. Zero blockage, normal blood pressure, normal heart rate. How can you have a heart attack?
I have elevated BP, and high sugar but am controlling through diet and exercise
Whats your bp and age?
Born in the 70s
BP is probably elevated due to alcohol, which is being minimized
I’ve just started a carnivore diet
Still young. Should improve with a clean diet brother 🫡
Yeah. 💯
Diabetes runs in the family but only if you eat modern shit
Plus, statins increase the risk of developing diabetes, which IS a major risk factor for cardiovascular events. A lot of docs don't even know this.

Doctors are repeatedly told statins are a necessity to avoid a heart attack. My own brother won't stop taking statins. I am a doctor, and that is still not enough. I doubt he would change his mind even if I were a cardiologist.
I heard statins are the most profitable drug in America and I think they want to keep it that way
They are number 2. Number 1 is a drug called Humira, which is a "miracle drug" used for treating autoimmune diseases, especially rheumatoid arthritis.
Look up the incidence rate of autoimmune disease on a historical chart btw. Everyone is bloody sick these days with one of these.
