You're right, but depending on who you're talking to, its: 1. A place to communicate freely, regardless of the number of people. 2. They truly believe in its potential, and are being active on it (and some producing content on it) in preparation for those that'll come and be the source of content that they seek (which makes them have the opportunity of a first-mover winner). And probably some other points. With that said, people of point 1 and 2 (and other points) will stick with nostr and gather people to it, and will stay because the influencer is here, and a chain reaction will come from it.
I am hopeful for the chain reaction. Nostr is rife with potential. 💜🫡

I stumbled onto Nostr a 2 years or so ago. i’m the old lady who bought 3 whole Bitcoin in 2016 & sold em, yeah. I yse to watch the news😑. Been on the peripheral til 2021. Vewy overwhelming for someone coming from Twitter thinking I knew web3. I know a little more now but still fumble. I have Damus & Now I am on Primal some, just getting my feet wet. It’s a huge learning curve for some of us and people have always been welcoming here. I keep coming back. I’m on Lens mostly and sometimes DeSo. Being in a “ warehouse” of building tech with bugs and crashes, it takes someone who believes in decentralization & the principles that come with that. Most people don’t know what Testflight or beta is!!? I had to learn. I knew nothing. Right now, I am leaving so many people behind by their choice due to they would rather X than ostrich. I realize I created Onboard60 not to onboard other senior citizens but to onboard myself. The intensive dyor, curriculum I created, the conferences I went to thinking it was to get others my age here too. It’s shattering, sadly.

I think we should start working to find creators who are joining and support them. Help make lists of creators, send them zap's, repost their content, promote them to new users. Let's welcome and support creators. The way to get Nostr to have content beyond bitcoin is to support other stuff, embrace the diversity. And yes, show them we've got a financial model with lightning payments so they can directly get paid. The zaps are important, but we need to zap folks for posting all sorts of things.

Forcément par règle de bienséance on devrait peut-être les masquer cela permettait d'éviter des cercles dans lequels on finit par user d'emojis, les échanges peinent à s'appofondir entre pairs et on y gagnerait entre nous m'est avis.. Yea there are a lot of people I follow who were fairly active before, but haven't been now for a while. I think people will just naturally spend their time where they find others they want to spend time with, or more generally where they find content/activity they like. I believe as nostr continues to make it easier for people to create/publish content, as well as to find and connect with the content/creators they like, then it will naturally draw more people to use it, and then I becomes a domino effect. For now though it seems like a lot of people would rather keep going back to other networks. I think it will keep improving though.

You think differently about the EU and such places banning X once you start posting on Nostr. It's kind of like how it would probably actually be good for bitcoin if States went hard after exchanges because it would make hodlers less KYC'd. Both would likely suck in the short term though.

v4v has been incredible for me and my bands. New friends, new discoveries, new music podcasts, some of the mates are even finally learning about bitcoin and nostr now that they have a few earned sats. They leapfrogged buying and went to straight to earning. No more churning, it's time for learning.
