not everyone understands that having free speech means the good and the bad are both allowed. it's even tough for me to comprehend, so i'm not going to hold it against someone. they'll get it eventually, when they need it most. nostr:nevent1qqsv3ax0nerlyghvxcfmt2x98f7cdsqm4h4p2hpkflssce4ll8ezhwgpzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7q3qaeh2zw4elewy5682lxc6xnlqzjnxksq303gwu2npfaxd49vmde6qxpqqqqqqz84pzqv
Website...
Which one though? 🤣
Everything not meta is nazi now.. and ho do we know trek is not the nazi here ?
Or that "free speech" implies that there's generally no regulator who will step in and prevent you from encountering the ugliness that others choose to spew. Instead the duty of curation rests upon the individual account-holder. Even so, in most countries there are some legal requirements that relay operators are going to have to live by. We're not going to live in libertarian fantasy world.
Oh absolutely. Nostr is flying under the radar right now. This will change as the Nostr grows.
Also, I'm not a libertarian 🔥
If someone publishes illegal content on your website comment box you're not immediately liable. Sure, in theory you are and in practice it may get to a point in which something will happen, but this is not unique to Nostr, the entire internet is like this and it has always worked pretty well. For some reason people keep bringing these points as if they posed some fatal blow to our supposedly naïve ideals or something like that, but that is just FUD.
> people keep bringing these points as if they posed some fatal blow to our supposedly naïve ideals or something like that Not at all. I think people neglect to mention it. I sometimes see people saying they won't try Nostr because they believe it is full of illegal stuff. So I try to make sure that people know that relay server operators have to be responsible about such things just like any website would.
I think you somehow believe people are going to ask permission to run a relay
If bad dude wants to run badduderelay.com then he's going to do it and in doing so, he's also going to have to deal with the consequences of doing so. It's no different than anything else on the Internet.
Typical, if your views don't align and you don't want to have a meaningful conversation, just call everyone you don't agree with a nazi.
It's an easy way out 😡
Whatever you Nazi 😤
Fuck Nazis.
lol 🤦🏻♀️
Bluesky is full of crazy woke people and furries. They aren't referring to any negative content on the Nostr, just that it's a protocol used by reasonable people with more conservative values. We are the Nazis they/them are referring to.
> They aren't referring to any negative content on the Nostr, just that it's a protocol used by reasonable people with more conservative values. Sounds funny. Why should the protocol choosen make you more reasonable and the even more conservative?! 😅
They are both emerging networks with a different user base. As the Nostr quickly gained popularity amongst Bitcoiners, there are larger percentage of users here who share common interests. Due to the changes made by Elon, the consensus on Bluesky is that Twitter is now a right-wing platform. Accordingly, it is being more heavily adopted by those on the left. I suspect this will change over time, but not until both protocols gain greater adoption.
"Everyone is probaly 'nazi' if they are different from your community or collective opinion" > Loosely word new definition 😅
