Visiting a village in Malawi that now has electricity because of Gridless and #Bitcoin mining was such an incredible experience.

In Malawi, the median salary is $2.00 per day and in the village we visited, it’s closer to $1.00. Worse, Malawi just had a currency debasement of 44% 3 weeks ago.

It touched my soul to meet and spend time with these amazing people, to see the laughter of the children, and to hear how #Bitcoin is changing their lives.

I would say good luck to anyone who thinks that #Bitcoin can be stopped. Because they are fighting a redistribution of power away from manipulation and exploitation of people back to them and to the free market. https://image.nostr.build/1c21ed5aaf1b8154240b8a71a2637f25581bdc2cd7c5b47c1de3d2bb4d569961.jpg
 Beautiful, thanks for sharing Jeff!
Thanks Trey - it was such a moving experience, and it’s amazing to watch it play out all over the world - and think about where that takes us.
Beautiful, may the hope and momentum continue to spread
People in that part of the world need a break from the horror tactics used by corrupt money powers. It makes my day to read this note @Jeff Booth
Thanks for the powerful note Jeff.
🫡🤝💪💪💪💪💪💪💪💪
Thanks for all you do for this space 🫂
And right back to you my friend!!! Can’t imagine doing anything else.
 👏💜🙌
Amazing to hear, Jeff. @BitcoinShooter is going to show something very similar that Gridless is doing in Kenya in his upcoming documentary
It’s absolutely incredible what they’re doing here and what it means.
In the last bull market, we didn’t have these kinds of transformational stories to point to. Now we do. The next couple of years (and beyond) are going to be like nothing we’ve experienced
That is so touching and inspiring to hear!
Amazing 🙏 lets give the younger generation the future they deserve 🤙💜🫂 Me today at the art school in Phnom Penh Cambodia https://i.nostr.build/3ZVx.jpg
Just read about the devaluation of the currency😞 any videos or documentation of the trip you’re willing to share?
Peter McCormick is doing a full documentary.
 Amazing!
 🫂
 Thank you @Jeff Booth.
This is wonderful to hear.
How is Bitcoin helping them?
Are there actual use cases benefiting them right now?
Can you identify use cases that need to be created and will benefit them?
 Beautiful! 🧡
Thanks my friend! Was absolutely incredible.

Wow, many projects twnd to die out in Africa after a few months. Good Sign.

Infrastructure Demand drives supply.
Thanks for sharing this inspiring story, Jeff.
Real-world cases about innovative energy usage via mining are as important as Bitcoin adoption in business.
 Rad.🤟
❤️‍🔥 That's some superhero stuff. Thanks.
beautiful. bitcoin is hope for so many.
Jeff, just curious - what do they have for internet access? Is it satellite (Starlink). Thanks!
 Yes - Starlink
 Excellent. Thank you.
 Glad you could visit!
how is mining specific to bitcoin? explain that to me.

bitcoin needs ASICs to mine. asics are expensive. extremely expensive for africans.

had they mined monero which can be mined on almost any electronic device, their lives would have changed to the better because their investment would be much less and their margins would have been better. also unlike bitcoin it would have provided privacy for them.

saying that bitcoin changed their lives is not honest.
Your post is receiving a lot of attention.

The best part of this note was the last paragraph.

The best the grifter class can do is slow global adoption down, only helping the third world become the first world.
I lived 5 years in Malawi not long ago! The country completely depends on aid and is controlled by IMF! It’s against this status, that #bitcoin can really fix this!
Grateful that you shared this 🧡
So these poor people are able to afford electricity for free? Or they get bitcoin? How is it trickling down?
 Nice 🫂
Come for the number go up...stay for the revolution!
The Bloom Library literacy site now has its first book about bitcoin: https://bloomlibrary.org/new-arrivals/book/8e1RXpRg8T

Your friends in Malawi can translate the easy-to-read book into their language with the Bloom Editor.

Better yet, they can create their own bitcoin books and publish them on Bloom. They know their audience best
You really have westerners out there who believe that people like the ones you met will embrace carbon hysteria at the expense of their ability to pull themselves out of monetary enslavement and energy poverty.

Is there a local project that we can support by donating #BTC ?
Dang Jeff, that was truly heartwarming. I’m interested in btc and it’s applications helping the most disadvantaged. Thanks for sharing this.
 🙏
Just need to bring lighting fees down
Gridless fan over here ✌️ Onwards @whiteafrican
 beautiful
Thank you for sharing Jeff. I appreciate your insights.
There are so many Malawians here in South Africa, and when you hear their stories of how they had to get here, its never a straight line, always filled with drama, but people still think its worth it, they are hard workers and just trying to get closer to a harder money, despite how bad the South African Rand is and our economy, they still see it as harder money

I hope that Bitcoin does bring hard money to countries across the region so people don't have to chase these weird fiat incentives and can build wealth without the need to leave their friends, family and even children

This is where magic is happening. And it's outside of all the crazy who, wef, imf, gates, schwab, us, Euro, etc. These are the people who need it the most and have been forgotten, or worse, abused by the systems that people like Jamie dimond and Liz warren are promoting.
 🎯
 Amazing 🤩
Awesome! The tables are turning. The idea cannot be stopped. It’s time has come.
This is both sad for the first world and amazing for the developing nations.

Also, here, Bitcoiners are doing their best to improve and embrace lives all around the world.

I once told a friend Bitcoin would save or change the world for the better. Not only do I still stand with this belief, but I'll take part in realizing it with you and other plebs.

It is just about time.

Bitcoiners are building their citadels in the least expected places for now.

Smart countries will soon start offering us what they have, so we move there.

((( We are picky, and we choose freedom. )))

It is a long shot, but it started already. El Salvador, Madeira, Bhutan, Costa Rica, Kenya, and many tiny places here and there in Africa and elsewhere.

There is SO MUCH difference between doomsayers thinking the end is near where the only solution is to reduce population because the earth has no resources–after they have abused every other nation for centuries– and those with hopes and dreams for a better future and who are working hard on innovative solutions that embrace humans, life, family, and nature.
