how is mining specific to bitcoin? explain that to me.

bitcoin needs ASICs to mine. asics are expensive. extremely expensive for africans. 

had they mined monero which can be mined on almost any electronic device, their lives would have changed to the better because their investment would be much less and their margins would have been better. also unlike bitcoin it would have provided privacy for them.

saying that bitcoin changed their lives is not honest.
