So natural family planning is 99% effective over the course of a year if done properly. Hormonal birth control is negligibly more effective but completely destroys women’s hormones and poses a non-zero risk of serious health complications. Condoms are somewhere around 95% effective if used properly. So there is a perfectly natural and reliable method of birth control and I had never even heard of it until I was 36 years old. Because it doesn’t make any corporation money. Everything is a scam.
I also learnt this in my 36th year 🙄
True When we finally started trying to have kids we found this out too. Knowing the cycle well should be enough
Apparently there are some pretty advanced ways that aren’t invasive to discern the fertile portion of the cycle too. Really interesting. Personal responsibility, discipline and awareness for the win (yet again)
I have a cycle calendar app that tells me, and I've begun to notice different things regularly line up at certain parts of my cycle, so I will eventually just know where I'm at without the app.
Wait wtf is natural family planning?
It’s basically just not doing sex during a women’s fertile time. But apparently (and this is backed up by a lot of studies) you can bust inside the rest of the time 😂😂🤣
Say what? When did this become a thing?
It’s always been a thing but I didn’t know it was this difficult. Assuming the stats are accurate. Don’t trust, verify.
I have to see sources. You can say that again.
My last girl friend told me about this and I absolutely did believe her. I looked into it further was blown away with what I found out.
Practicing caution is still wise here. Average men have low T and are usually unhealthy so these studies don’t completely apply to you if you’re doing some variation of carnivore and you exercise regularly. Your swimmers might get the job done against all odds 💪🏽
Haha yeah... I'd been carni for a few months when hubstr started and when my Natropath friend found out he'd gone that way and was losing weight, she gave us a big caution about healthier meaning we might have to be more careful than we had been if we weren't wanting kids.
What’s the method?
No sex or condom use during high fertility portion (≈5 days) of the cycle. But cream pies the rest of the time. I’d be too scared to try it but there are a lot of studies that show ≈99% efficacy if executed properly. So pull out and no birth control is a slam dunk if you’re also doing NFP. Hormonal birth control is so bad for women in multiple ways. I’d never advocate for it.
