@ca5977db Your own website at a hosting company. Keep it simple with a static site by using Hugo or something similar. Or make a dynamic site using Wordpress like everyone else.
@18f2a82b ok but would that mean I gotta install and update wordpress myself? because that just seems like a security nightmare
@ca5977db No, not necessarily. You could pick a company that offers Wordpress hosting. They'll run the techy stuff for you. You just pick your layout and get posting. On a quick glance, prices seem to run at around 3-5 dollars a month.
@18f2a82b @ca5977db I just want to back up Tyrone here. This is what I do, I picked a company that just turned it on for me (and setup HTTPS) I had to do my own domain name hacking though (configuring CNAME records) which isn't hard but it LOOKS hard) I wouldn't recommend the company I chose but I assume there are many, some which I've been told even do the domain thing. Wordpress just auto updates to it's really easy once it's up.
@957492b3 @ca5977db Yeah. The way it tends to work is 1. Make account with hosting company, and book whatever package seems right for you. 2. Pick a domain name, or transfer an existing one. 3. In the company's web interface, click a button that says "Install WordPress" or something like that. Wait a few minutes. 4. Your site's ready! Configure it to your heart's content. 5. Find out that you don't have as much time for blogging as you thought you did.
