Give me the 95 screensaver.. This thing too much new.
 Are you like 100yo?
 I came from a future past.. 👀
3.1 old first pc was 1991 Packard Bell 386
 That's like WWII computer!! 😵☠️😱
My first experience was my friend had and apple II E that was in like 7th grade, so that would have been 82 or so.
 Im MSDOS 3 old
Lol I’m so old, I remember Windows XP as a huge upgrade 😂
 It wasn’t 😂
Nope. But it did feel pretty sweet finally getting a machine that could run it. 😎
Yes, I’m fucking old. Type Windows 95 old ☎️📟💾📼🗝️💽👴🏼
 Shit….basic
MsDos was revolutionary
At least no one is "punchcard old" (or are they)? 😃

https://m.primal.net/HWoo.jpg
Not punch card old, but i did learn Fortran 77 in a freshman engineering class in 1994. Fortran syntax was still based on 70 characters per line to fit punched cards. Next semester the department switched to C++. Interesting fact the electrical modeling software PSS/E-PSCAD still uses Fortran.
I used punchcards once at an engineering firm to reload an original NRC approved/verified program, that we modified and were forced to compare our modified output to an original values which had to be reloaded from “cards” for recertification. I think it was a government thing.
486dx with 4 megs of ram was enough to play DOOM. 😎
I was just thinking about this the other day.

I remember in grade school being taught how to type on computers with 5 1/4 floppies. The first computers I remember playing were on dos with green screens.

My first PC that was fully mine was one of the early versions of Compaq Presario in the mid 90s. I remember playing Warcraft, Fallout, and Diablo on that machine while checking the warez scene and using Napster.
 Commodore 64 old
 Your post is being well-received.
Added to the https://nostraco.in/hot feed

Dad - what on earth is this? https://image.nostr.build/46de75913ede441ed4ec47d6d96e44ea8b13575ee78c94ba62876e63b0601e6c.jpg
"somebody 3d printed the Save icon!" 🤣
Is that a floppy disk? 🤯
 It is indeed
But the older, 5 1/4 one.
Just imagine what the woke brigade will have had with floppy and hard disks
😂😂🤣 probably would have complained that it was inhumane to ask a person to spend more than a second to store/save something 🙏🏽 there would have been uproar

I actually miss my Postman Pat cassette tapes 🥹 had good times with those 😌
This sentence doesn’t make any sense
Fixed it - Just imagine what the woke brigade will have had “to say”with “regards to” floppy and hard disks
Fun fact: Boeing 747’s run on floppy disks
🤯😱 whaaaa is that safe? I mean it must be but they haven’t decided to use anything else? 👀 kinda cool but I know Richard Branson must have a rainy day stash somewhere to improve it 🤣😂
It’s safe, the 747’s are from the 80’s so they just use the storage that was available at the time

They stopped making them recently so it’s probably CDs in the new ones 🤣
 Blooody hell 😂😂😂🤣

Ahh man do you remember video tapes !

I miss blockbuster 😂🤣🥹
I remember them unraveling in the machine
 Good times 😌🤣
That little piece of foil tape protects the data from being overwritten. https://image.nostr.build/2d1ab700e93869ee29955291ee462f599cf159799daf093c9a53ed95182a49f9.jpg

This looks like a dark mode version of a printed receipt 🥹🤯🫣
Check those specs - fancy pants with 2 floppy disks
We did still have a punched card reader at my High School, but it was already collecting dust…
 Not today fed
 yesn't
 MS-dos old
 Good times.
33 it was pure pain XP for me at the age of 16 zero knowledge about computers.
nostr:nevent1qqsza347kk4lp50uaeusj0hytyt8fgcs7wfwsh5cgddw86m8n9ud0fcpzamhxue69uhhyetvv9uju6rpwa6xjetn9eu8j7szypqweavm2cqfsyl2fscgrvvan4f97akm7fg6tgpcnd975f7r56uc7qcyqqqqqqg640k9j
 Good times.

I remember when games had both Windows and DOS modes. And you better guess the right IRQs during setup or things wouldn't work quite right.
 win 3.1.1 was my jam....
 Older sadly.
My dude. This is only 23 years ago.
That means it’s been old enough to drink for two years. 🥹😭😭😭
 Only
 I loved Win nt 🤣
My first computer used a cassette tape - Sinclair spectrum 16k 😂
 Mine was an abacus...
 This old https://image.nostr.build/474f8844d373ca83746e721bdf1408f3789acc14a283e12b5f4c030ea3d4e079.jpg
 Ram cartridge, cassette drive, right?
Yes. I remember typing the command line prompts and then counting with the cassette player until the game was loaded. I played mission impossible with it, which required playing the cassette for every level.
 Press Play on Tape XD
And then carefully watch the counter
The coloured horizontal flashing stripes rocked my soxks
What drove me nuts was reloading the game from the start after making a mistake with the tape.
Predicting #fiat GDP on this at uni - it’s funny in retrospect that the economic system taught is just smoke and mirrors https://image.nostr.build/3dddaf53ed1492b068800ee9e344a36b937f4b5b7819574ca71409d2a9e97a80.jpg

YES! …but no soeech synthesizer? And where’s the tape backup?
My TI-99 had the reboot key right next to the plus key. Early lessons in saving often...
To be honest, I remember little of mine. Pretty sure I had two games at most, so the only way to play something new was to type the code in myself from a book of my parents bought me. Finally we upgraded to the C64, which at least had a pretty good trade in pirated games.
What are these nice colors? My childhood was monochrome green.

I have a TRS-80 in storage. I need to fire it up and show my kid. The Model 100 is still nice to type on for text things, so I may start letting him play with that a bit. I have some of the comics, also, but no memory of how I got them.
