Dad - what on earth is this? https://image.nostr.build/46de75913ede441ed4ec47d6d96e44ea8b13575ee78c94ba62876e63b0601e6c.jpg
"somebody 3d printed the Save icon!" 🤣
Is that a floppy disk? 🤯
 It is indeed
But the older, 5 1/4 one.
Just imagine what the woke brigade will have had with floppy and hard disks
😂😂🤣 probably would have complained that it was inhumane to ask a person to spend more than a second to store/save something 🙏🏽 there would have been uproar

I actually miss my Postman Pat cassette tapes 🥹 had good times with those 😌
This sentence doesn’t make any sense
Fixed it - Just imagine what the woke brigade will have had “to say”with “regards to” floppy and hard disks
Fun fact: Boeing 747’s run on floppy disks
🤯😱 whaaaa is that safe? I mean it must be but they haven’t decided to use anything else? 👀 kinda cool but I know Richard Branson must have a rainy day stash somewhere to improve it 🤣😂
It’s safe, the 747’s are from the 80’s so they just use the storage that was available at the time

They stopped making them recently so it’s probably CDs in the new ones 🤣
And people wonder why I don't like flying. It's like when I was asking a car sales rep why they hell they are still putting CD players in cars, circa 2016. But this is far worse. LOL
 Blooody hell 😂😂😂🤣

Ahh man do you remember video tapes !

I miss blockbuster 😂🤣🥹
I remember them unraveling in the machine
 Good times 😌🤣
That little piece of foil tape protects the data from being overwritten. https://image.nostr.build/2d1ab700e93869ee29955291ee462f599cf159799daf093c9a53ed95182a49f9.jpg

2nd generation floppy disk after the 8” ones got phased out 😉
I was saving NMR spectroscopy data on the 8 inch ones in the early 2000s.
 🤝
Any serious data storage went on to archive quality magtape though 🤩
This looks like a dark mode version of a printed receipt 🥹🤯🫣
Check those specs - fancy pants with 2 floppy disks
We did still have a punched card reader at my High School, but it was already collecting dust…
