A good first step in waking people up on how bad "food" has gotten is asking them what they think is the first ingredient in mayonnaise. #foodstr #readlabels https://image.nostr.build/7c0fbb0bf55ca458094f52ba0136556c9cdf21102716bea3c0bd984498000873.jpg
But mayo has always been oil and egg👀
I'm not certain it used to be canola oil and I think that egg used to be the first ingredient. I'm a dolt though, so...
Hm, you're right. It's egg and oil is poured in, I'm sorry. I didn't make it for a few years now. Although when salt, pepper, white fat joghurt, garlic and a bit of spicy ketchup are added, it makes a really nice fresh sauce for steamed veggies. I have my own opinions about canola oil, I found that disgusting since the first time I smelled the thing. If, then sunflower. Any guesses on what “liquid whole egg” actually means? Maybe just food industry speak for scrambled?
I'm sure it's whole organic free range artisan local craft eggs.
Nothing truly compares to home made mayo with fresh eggs

I read earlier today that some Americans who eat a lot of processed food, when they go on vacation to countries in the Southern Hemisphere and Europe, end up losing weight by eating real foods… Crazy
Some of "America's" food isn't even legal in many countries.
Costco sells a Mayo that’s made with avacado oil instead. Super good stuff.
We've had that. It is better for sure.
the “liquid” part concerns me. even if you see avocado oil or olive oil mayo in store, usually it still has kore soybean oil in it than the oil that is advertised! i make my own. i gage uo trying to find any decent mayo

I just make homemade mayo (recipe below) and I use regular light colored olive oil (not extra virgin, that's too grassy). Stick blender mayo ---------------------------- 1 whole egg +1 yolk 1 tsp Dijon mustard 1/4 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp salt 2 T vinegar or lemon juice 1 cup refined olive oil In a jar whose interior bottom just fits a stick blender head, place egg, add rest. Fit blender head over eggs. Add oil slowly. Blend, pulling up gently nostr:note18qw6qj3mpm4hf0wncu5l8rsae8zg82qs995lr6reecxp4cl3675sjeerkq https://m.primal.net/KtEH.jpg
