@97d863f4 Price rises in NZ but that just follows on from iPad price increases at the last refresh. Currency fluctuations etc. Funny that none of the “ALL THE PRICES ARE RISING!” articles aren’t being followed up in the press eh?
@b6634cd5 @97d863f4 Price rises, but the exchange + tax difference is still bigger. $999USD iPhone 15 Pro is $2099NZD. It was $1999 last year. Converting from USD + 15% tax is only $1950. So $150NZD difference from the US price. About a $100 increase with no real logic behind it.
@491c0dec @97d863f4 I think - when I’ve looked in the past - they seem to build in an amount for expected continuation of currency changes. I suspect they have financial advice that the gap will get wider and, by the time the next iPhone comes around, it’ll have caught up. Of course, it’s all a punt on their side, and a guess on mine - but given they only change pricing at product launch, it seems that would be what is happening.
