100% delivery rate. Currently, if you send a note, only people who are online might see it, or if you use unseen DVM you might see it, but it’s buried in other notes. If people don’t want to miss your notes, they need a way to subscribe somehow and get a guarantee of your note delivery even when they’re offline. Basically a priority dm inbox that can be bulk sent to.
What’s the difference between a follow list then? Is it just a “priority follow” basically?
Follow list relationship is a bit different. You’re saying, I want to see your stuff. A priority follow is more of “I really don’t want to miss whatever you announce”. What you might call a subscription. I think nostr could solve this with priority DMs, but you need to have a tool for creators to make lists quickly and easily and be able to bulk dm the people who opted in to be on those lists. In kind 1 clients I imagine this as a subscribe button and a priority dm area. In specialized clients you might be able to opt into different lists and creator can categorize which list you belong to. This is mostly a front end function and a way to sort who should be priority dmed and who shouldn’t.
DMs are kind of like this now but people are treated as strangers by default (rightfully so). We could keep it all in one dm area as long as there was some way to indicate that you allow a person to go straight to your “known contacts”
I see yea that could definitely be very useful. In general we need a way to see content from people who don’t post as much
That too but it’s a bit different too. Creators want to make sure they can reach their audiences directly, but in a mutually agreed way (not like sending random dms to people). Following people doesn’t mean I want to get nonstop dms from them unless I specially say I do.
