I get what your saying, but it is based in the assumption that what I am doing is motivated by the wrong goal. I'll make an assumption as you mention a particular motivation. There is a rumor going around that I got involved in a project because of a certain person. Truth is, I was making changes to this project before I knew (of) this person (who works on a different project, a specification). I was already working on the codebase (of that same project) before that "next-gen" initiative started.
My motivation for this is simple: I think it is important to have it available. That is the reason why I spent time on it initially: it got neglected with known bugs/problems. I did not see it treated as seriously as I thought it should have, so I started working on it. It's as simple as that.
I also get accused of spamming meaningless issues, but if they would check them, people would see those were serious discussions.
I have no doubt you were misinformed, because it is done every time. I don't know who is spreading this misinformation, but they're lying. Also, I have no interest in keeping people away. That's another lie. I am not angry at them, except there is a whole lot of misinformation and accusations thrown my way, so clearly there are people involved who want me to be the bad guy. I don't know who instigated those ad hominem attacks against me, but they are spreading lies.
Sounds like a courageous conversation needs to happen. No assumptions.. just lay it all out. And identify how to make it the best for all. Common ground, common goal, clear expectations, and the “why” aspects are important. You got this! 👏🏻 Best of luck to you.
I don't think you understand: I get attacked on everything in the past 20 years. This isn't something that started in the last 5 years. There are people playing both sides. I am apparently a PITA to everyone because I do what's right. That's apparently why so many people are pissed off. The point isn't one conflict, because there are already plenty of other (false) accusations in a different context, involving different people.
There isn't a single party with which things need to be resolved. At least, not from what experiences of the last 5 years are telling me. The problem is that there are a number of false accusations at the root. And most likely a whole lot of stupid people. And, yes, I am rude about this because time and time again these people only accept me as the bad guy. I have always been open to conversation and tried contacting people a few times. Every time I get lies. It's not that strange, because they all assumed I would easily give up. So, if you talk about e.g. haters, that was the perfect shitty attitude. That is, until I showed significant progress.
I like the project. I don't like the many people who are involved only to attack me without any reason and without giving me even a chance to explain. The evidence was and is there.
