I get what your saying, but it is based in the assumption that what I am doing is motivated by the wrong goal. I'll make an assumption as you mention a particular motivation. There is a rumor going around that I got involved in a project because of a certain person. Truth is, I was making changes to this project before I knew (of) this person (who works on a different project, a specification). I was already working on the codebase (of that same project) before that "next-gen" initiative started.
My motivation for this is simple: I think it is important to have it available. That is the reason why I spent time on it initially: it got neglected with known bugs/problems. I did not see it treated as seriously as I thought it should have, so I started working on it. It's as simple as that.
I also get accused of spamming meaningless issues, but if they would check them, people would see those were serious discussions.
I have no doubt you were misinformed, because it is done every time. I don't know who is spreading this misinformation, but they're lying. Also, I have no interest in keeping people away. That's another lie. I am not angry at them, except there is a whole lot of misinformation and accusations thrown my way, so clearly there are people involved who want me to be the bad guy. I don't know who instigated those ad hominem attacks against me, but they are spreading lies.
