I actually am loathe to zap half-hearted introductory notes, as it finally occured to me that someone could just churn those out and collect the money. Npubs show up, say "Hi, I'm new here!", and then we zap so hard that the profile trends. And then the profile sometimes goes dormant.
Seems to happen more with girls' PfPs. Because reasons. Makes me sort of envious, as only my bros zap me, and there's probably some dude in Asia collecting real money with pics of AI-generated mids standing in front of their fake kitchens or hugging their pretend pets. 🙄 You can often tell because they're so perfectly nondescript, unintimidating, and precisely mid. Maths. 🤌

nostr.com does not explain how to get a NPUB. There is a portion that recommends using a client, but skips over the actual getting the NPUB part, and doesn't scrape getting a LNURL. Any tips? I got mine from getalby, but they are now invite only and frankly, I would rather have my own and not have it linked to a product.
Use #Amethyst for that.

Almost every client can generate a nsec/npub for you. I'm not sure what you mean by LNURL not being part of a product. It'sthe address for your lighting wallet and it has a lot of options. On the custodial side Alby is one of the better solutions and even though they are invite only, it's fairly easy to get one. A really quick option is mash.com and if you're outside the US Wallet of Satoshi. If you want selfcustody Zeus, Mutin Wallet, Phoenix Wallet are all good options, but with self custody you will need to pay a fee to open a lightning channel. Personally I don't think it's worth it if you're starting out and keeping less that $10 in there
