We love to see lots of new users try out the wallet and ask questions! We took some time out to answer some of the common questions. It's a different experience dealing with self-custodial Lightning and we hope to address as many pain points as possible. Let us know if you have any that we might have missed! https://blog.mutinywallet.com/mutiny-wallet-faq/

Any reccomendation for a browser that supports webassembly and can be downloaded as apk?
Most do. We have some info here on it. https://github.com/MutinyWallet/mutiny-web/wiki/Browser-Compatibility
Release the app!
Support the team! It's available for testing for our Mutiny+ users.
I think you should also add this full text to habla type events in Nostr. Yesterday I started using Mutiny. Lightning never felt intuitive (with inbound and outbound liquidity) and still not feel comfortable but I hope I will understand it better and also in time it will get easier to use. Anyhow thanks for the good alternative and all the effort you put in.👏
Here is my case if you want to hear: - I opened a Mutiny wallet. There is 0 balance. - I don’t have enough money inside Wallet of Satoshi (<100.000sats). - I send some satoshi to my Mutiny via on-chain. - I swapped them to lightning. - I try to recieve money from wallet of satoshi still gives the not enough money error. - I transfered some satoshis to Wallet of Satoshi. Now the balance in WoS is greater than 140.000. - I transferred back them to Mutiny. It left around 40.000 sats in WoS and transferred rest to Mutiny. - when I try to transfer what I have in WoS to Mutiny, it gives the error: I need to open a channel this is not enough etc… —- At this point I understand this lightning stuff is still over my head even though I write software in Python and stuff so not a clueless guy in when it comes to computer. Anyhow I guess we’re still early :))
We understand this scenario and we try to describe it in the post above.
Thanks for the answer. I also understood some of it but not the part the 40k left (39.999 to be exact) in the WoS account. That was strange for me and still didn’t get it. But at least after that transaction I had some both in my inbound and outbound liquidity. Anyhow like I said I think I’m over my head now. Thanks for the good product and effort. Everyday it makes it clear for all of us how it is important to spend yime and effort for this stuff. @ODELL , @Deleted Account , @MartyBent are usually vocal about this aspect and it is sometimes easy to ignore when you found yourself a comfort zone. But as they say Freedom is not easy and it needs to be fought for continuously.
Can I open my own channels? Or only can use the LSP?
You can! It's an option in the admin tools section.
That option allows you to open to any node on the network. In the "on chain swap" screen, the default is to open the channel yourself with the LSP.
Sweet, I poked around, but didn’t see it earlier. I have a smallish channel already with LSP, would like to open to my main node too which has a ton of liquidity.
You are doing great @OpenSecret Thats why new people are joining 🫶🫶
Is the Mutiny wallet capable of generating a static ln address to receive Nostr zaps? If that's not how it works, forgive me. Still have much to learn
Not yet but it's something we are actively working on.
I'm going to take this opportunity to address an elephant in the room. 🐘 One key take away that I've realised in the past 24 hours is how far we still have to go before lightning is ready for the mass market. For all it's faults in good practice, WoS actually made this stuff work for a lot of people. Now, I'm happy to learn the ins and outs of different wallets, the network and technical aspects, but anyone who thinks that average Joe and his mother are going to go through the rigemerol of balancing liquidity and jumping through hoops is delusional. If we honestly want to progress the idea of hyperbotcoinization, there HAS to be options out there as simple as WoS. I would really hope they could come with best practices as standard but I also acknowledge that convenience usually requires compromise. TL:DR; Lightning needs to be more user friendly for the masses.
Unfortunately I am very ignorant when it comes to lightning. If I leave funds in the wallet for a long time and don't use them... do they expire? If I don't enter the wallet for a long time, will I find them again? I hope I have explained myself. THS
They don't expire, but the channel might eventually be closed and your funds will move from Lightning to normal on chain Bitcoin.
and if they are moved to the normal Bitcoin chain, will I be able to see them and use them then? if yes, how?
Yes. You can use them in the app or in another wallet.

Thanks Tony love to see it.
Does this work on Android?
Yes.
No it doesn't...
Just add their github repo url to Obtanium to install directly from source instead of using an app store. https://github.com/MutinyWallet/mutiny-web https://m.primal.net/HRPh.png
And what is obtanium?
Let's you install apps directly from the source, circumventing app stores. https://github.com/ImranR98/Obtainium
How? Why are anything that is related to bitcoin so difficult to understand/use for average people?
It's a nascent space. The more mature parts (saving #Bitcoin using a hardware wallet) are more accessible today compared with parts under heavier iteration (noncustodial #Lightning experiments).
Obtainium has nothing to do with bitcoin.
Why is anything related to #bitcoin so difficult to use and understand?
