Ladies and Gentleman; I give you, the President (Warden) of the ECB.
"Global cooperation, multilateral action" = "Global financial surveillance state ensuring you comply with whatever they tell you to comply with".

I expect to see a lot more of this “locking the exits” behavior over the coming months and years.
Europe knows the experiment is failing and they’re going to start acting more and more authoritarian in an attempt to protect their positions.

It means that they don't get double taxed on the same income. The US has the same deal. They have tax treaties with most nations such that they give you credit for the tax you paid in the other country but then "make up the difference" with their own taxation.
For example, say you make 100k, you live in a place with 10% tax and france's tax is 50%. That's less than half the french tax level so this new law would apply to you.
You pay 10k to your country of residence. France says you would have owed 50k had you lived in france. They give you credit for the 10k you already paid where you live and tell you to pay 40k to them (for roads, obviously).
Question for parents out there. How much do you agree with this statement.
"You should let kids just be kids for as long as possible."
Presented without further context on purpose. Would love to hear 1) how you take that and 2) whether you agree

Lots of great responses on this one.
It's interesting how people responded to the question in very different ways.
The context from my side is trying to strike a balance between not burdening my kids with the way the world really works vs answering their questions in a way that isn't hiding the truth or assuming they can't handle it.
Kids are curious. I feel like it's my duty to try and give them thoughtful answers to their questions and leave them the space try and understand complex topics when they want to.
It's easy to overdo it though.

Yeah. It’s really insane how many flaming hoops people will jump through to avoid the simple solution.
Have kids, not too late, let them fuck around and find out. 😅
I remembered the election is only a few weeks away and was happy, until I realized that no matter who wins, half the country won’t recognize the winner things will likely only get more loud and annoying.
🙄😒
I replaced the battery in 2011 MacBook Air a few months ago and flashed a lightweight flavor of Linux on it. It’s like a brand new machine. Kind of amazing and perfect first laptop for the kids.
I actually think it's the opposite. They're the minority but they're loud and demanding and happen to have forced their way to the top of the political ladder in most places (because they're that type of psychopathic).
We're the majority, we just don't want to play their fucked up game.
Me too! 💯 I have a completely different view of social media now.
Perhaps you could even say I can see it for what it might be, unburdened by what it was...
