Happy one-year anniversary to this nightmare GitHub issues thread.
My favorite part was when the lead dev changed the name of the issue, so people would stop dogpiling into it.
Here’s the short version:
:nextcloud: #NextCloud #IOS changed the way they handle auto-uploads to the NC server.
It USED to be triggered by a GPS event that would fire whenever a picture is taken on an iPhone.
This required that the app have GPS permissions. Many non-technical users found this confusing and were concerned about privacy.
Apple is also not really providing a great background event for NC devs to work with, it appears. :omya_apple:
SO. Instead of putting in a little explanation banner like so many apps do, NC-IOS decided to just remove the feature and instead require that you open the app and leave it running in the foreground whenever you want all your pictures to be added to the server.
In the “background” the auto-upload process is left to the discretion of IOS without the GPS trigger. IOS will not handle background events like this until conditions are “optimal” like the device being plugged in and connected to Wi-Fi. And even then, will still sometimes block the background upload event.
:doge: Many people unhappy. Want old way. Used to only upload 5-6 photos at a time. Now upload 50-60 photos at a time. Many photo missing. Much suffering.

Listening to some teenagers talk about how in some places there are dress codes that require people to cover their necks because necks are very provocative.
Debate about whether this was true or not followed.
They concluded that giraffes are the sexiest creatures on the planet. 🦒
A while back I started using "reckon" more because I thought it was a funny word. Just kind of like a personal joke for myself.
But now I reckon I cant stop. :cowboy-cool-cry-mild-panic:

Yeah, I guess that has its appeal. Personally, I think If I am trying to make an RPI a daily driver, I'd rather spend the money and just get a retired enterprise desktop computer.
The form factor will be different, but the performance and price will be similar. The benefit is you get to save on time building, and testing.
Hero to sidekick: "In case we don't make it out of this alive, I want you to know, I think of you as my brother."
Sidekick to hero: "Me too. I also think of me as my brother"
Hero: "…"
Sidekick: "it's a really weird relationship with myself. And it's kind of hard to talk about. (sheds a tear) Thanks for being so empathetic."

When the fast food joint is slow and super backed up, be the one who complains about how the joint is understaffed rather than the one who complains about the wage-workers making $15/hr for a crap work environment.

You're already on my good list if you come from social.linux.pizza. I got an open door for anyone on that instance. :TheRing-thumb:
Nice to meet you, tgpo!

The RPI is awesome if the newest console you want to emulate is an N64 though. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ :raspberrypi:
But also, screw raspberrypi. :AngeryCat:
