@c215902f I just know from capturing by own home movies that the VHS tapes of family memories from the 80s survived better than the ones from the 90s in similar storage situations.
In terms of movies, the studio-released tapes will always be better than the quality recorded off of TV or cable
@cbebc6e3 UPDATE - Square, Cash app, and Apple Pay all have confirmed outages. No confirmed outages from Visa or MasterCard but, given Square having issues and being a major payment processor, that could be contributing.
No major data center outages at AWS, Azure, Oracle, or IBM from what I can see.
So my guess is these three providers are linked, likely through a common bank or they all just use Square and it went down.

MORNING UPDATE
Well, the news FINALLY started reporting on this issue and I got a few details I didn't know yesterday.
1. Square and Cashapp have the same parent company called Block
2. Apple Pay DEPENDS on Square for functionality.
So, basically, one of the largest payment processors in the world went down and took out tens of thousands of people with them.
I'm willing to bet the wrong person changed a configuration file... LOL

I started reading through the Declaration of Independence with my 14-year-old last night and was amazed by a couple of things.
1. How true the document rings about our government today as it did about the king in 1776.
2. How cordially sarcastic and biting our forefathers were in the document. They were cordial, but they also issued some SOLID barbs in there.
