@31394a05 The Victorian Liberal Party is #Unelectable. Andrews leaves knowing that barring self inflicted fatal wounds, Labor should have at least another election win in 3 years.
@92874597 I too can't wait for October 14. The "debate" has degenerated into barrackers of opposing teams. Remember when Dutton was derided for saying the referendum would be divisive. I thought people would just debate the issue. I was wrong. I hate that #Unelectable Dutton has been proved right. It doesn't bode well for the future that we can't rise to a straightforward debate. #auspol
@e2f1dae6 The interesting thing for me is Shorten's position. I think he recognises that calling No voters racist or anything else derogatory will in effect cement their No position. The old saying about catching more flies with honey than vinegar comes to mind. #auspol
@d701b796 I can only speculate on why the process which has probably seen the most unified request on behalf of FNP ever does not seem to cut through. I suspect that many just do not place value on process in developing the Voice referendum. The No campaign will try the divided peoples line but even that is probably just preaching to people who would already vote no. The real task in selling Yes is not in saying that FNP asked for the Voice, but in saying they deserve it.
@684e23f9 Honestly to achieve nothing in all that time in politics is such a disservice to Australia.
Remember "The Liberal Party has a problem with women". Was this really solved by overpriviledged right wing women like Payne, Cash, Ruston, Hume, Reynolds, etc acting the same as their overpriviledged male counterparts?
I will call notice to two women in the Libs that I believe show at least a willingness to lead and make a stand, IMO, Bridget Archer and Julie Bishop. Bishop is retired.
@31561be0 I would love to have been able to call some of these bullshit doomsday businesses on this crap. We will
* go bankrupt
* have to move offshore
* have to reduce staff
Most of them wouldn't go bankrupt, wouldn't move offshore, wouldn't lay off staff. It is overwhelmingly a press grabbing negotiation tactic IMO.
@767573c0 There are many such phrases that serve the same purpose.
Boys night out, big boys toys, etc. Gender disparagement is common in its many forms. So much so that even the gender being disparaged often uses these terms in self description.
@684e23f9 Don't forget the control and coercion. You can't question religious teachings or interpretation without suffering the consequences of being a blasphemer.
@a7cfa849 Your point is what exactly? I think going through the list of those with existing priority access to parliament and executive government is not overly helpful. In my view, these groups should not have this access.
The question IMO that voters in the referendum need to ask themselves is this:
Do we grant priority access to FNP due to the history of this country?
It is not about disadvantage as other disadvantaged groups do not have this access. Nor self determination.
