People are using the total running cost of the AEC as why we shouldn't hold a referendum, conveniently forgetting that the AEC still exists and has to pay costs in years stuff isn't held. $336 million sounds like a lot, until you hear that last year the AEC was given $241 million to run as normal. 

 @8282eedf I don't think it is expensive at all. What cost is a democratic process? Certainly, $100 m doesn't seem a great cost.
