You can't announce an event like this and then just stand back and watch. You can't be passive for social progression. You have to put in effort.

You can't inflict this event on society and then not take steps to protect people from abuse.

We all knew the racists would come out and it would be horrible for first nations people, so they don't get to just stand back and let it happen. He has set up his first nation colleagues for danger and harm.
