My daily experience with #chatgpt has been really degrading lately. Lots of inaccuracy, latest updates made it much more verbose but not in a good way.
Yesterday I gave it two popular audio products and asked whats the best method to connect them and it "browsed online" just to come up with objectively wrong answers.
Not to mention the app is becoming extremely unstable, I constantly need to relogin or lose connection to some cryptic errors.
Trying out #perplexityai and #gemini today.
#Telegram history and cover by Financial Times is a good read https://www.ft.com/content/c70ef7d6-230a-4404-b854-2e75fe0f2e0a
I kinda like Telegram but it just has this stink around it and I don't trust. It's objectively a powerful tool but It always feels like something doesn't add up there.
Got #gnome setup this weekend. Giving it #Forge a shot which is a new, simple tilling window manager:
https://github.com/forge-ext/forge
I've tried material-shell before but it didn't work well for me for whatever reason and Forge while more simple feels more stable.
For further customization I used #wmctrl which allows more scripting options and for drop down terminal I used #trdrop. For system control I can't get away from brilliant #rofi and it's ecosystem (#rofimoji, #greenclip).
@b5c27f93 This is awesome! I've been researching a similar topic to help our users with time-series data analysis and web scraping.
One note on the article is that the code is a bit hard to read. They should really add some code highlighting to the web theme!
@7e344881 we can agree to disagree but I do believe that unfairness is a good metric for contribution capability.
A struggling person should not have the same ethical responsabilities as one that lives in a constant life of lavish.
Untill then I'm not judging anyone for not giving more. I do agree we should promote and strive for better solutions but punching down is NOT ok.
Any #CX (Customer Experience) people on #mastodon that could share their opinions on this niche? How is it? Future prospects and growth? New cool trends?
My SO with years of onsite customer experience would like to pivot towards that direction for more remote-friendly opportunities and looking for learning resources and opinions 🙏
@8766528d I have a very similar process too! Though I fire up #inkscape and draw a mind map with these details and some goofy visuals. I find the visuals really help but it extra friction that really gets in the way in the beginning until you feel really comfortable with the process.
A group of nanobots could probably levitate. They could get organized to form some sort of levitation device like a drone unless they cannot form strong enough solids at which point they'd be shitty nanobots ngl
I like how in the #terminator2 in skynet shots theirs just programmers but with lab coats.
Wait do programmers get to wear lab coats? How come I wasn't informed
Been doing a lot of #frontend work lately and while it's significantly more frustrating and imperfect than #backend it's just so rewarding to have that visual and interactive feedback.
#sqlite being used as a message queue for #Python
https://github.com/litements/litequeue
Ideal for small projects that need a persistent, easy to package msg queue. Great for #webScraping
#netflix releases an Indonesian court drama documentary when the current news cycle is focusing on a #tiktok influencer going to prison for 2 years for eating pork on video. There's something weirdly poetic going on here.
Who cares about your court magic when you don't even have a law framework compatible with the 21st century lol
@a272784d Yes, chatgpt is not directly involved in this and sorry but I'm being a bit triggered by how targeted chatgpt is by press despite not being involved in most of the things it's being attached to.
The AI hate is being so goofy that it almost seems like a red herring. In case in particular, it's not AI that's the issue - it's microsoft collecting everything which should be stopped no matter what's the reason tbh.
#kagi coming out with 10$/mo unlimited search makes it really hard to say no. Limited searches were really my only gripe with the service. Even if there isn't a realistic chance of me reaching the limit just having that noise in my head and query counting was a major turn off. Definitely giving it a shot now :)
@0140e359 honestly this seems like a prime case in favor of accelerationism. Images were already extremely manufactured not only through editing but through context and angles.
@fd4f7052 They clearly didn't evaluate Tiktok because it's full of ruzzian trolls. Most of them don't even bother changing the usernames from the default "User<numbers>" and somehow end up with hundreds of upvotes.
Ugh mobile #gaming is so disappointing. It's always such bait and switch with micro transactions. I don't mind paying for games but it's always such a ripoff with this platform, be it ios or android.
@f8d9bc1c@3791f9f4 it also points out how relatively cheap internet stuff is. You mean we can have Twitter for mere pennies and not have to sacrifice our freedoms? Modern software is incredibly cheap and we can do so much more if we can free ourselves from this "everything has to be ad supported and free" mentality.
Had a great weekend in #bangkok. Beautiful city once you avoid the lame bits and the exhausting traffic.
My favorite place this trip was "100-Bit Barcade" which is a gaming bar with emulator cabinets and a jazz bar called Foojohn upstairs that plays sweet fire 🔥
so we got loose with with some live music upstairs and got into Captain Commando and Street Fighter afters. Highly recommend it!
