Yeah I don't buy into this reasoning at all. 

Pointing fingers has never helped. The general public points to the rich people for they cause 50% of the waste and they point to the general public for they cause the other 50%.

If we, the general public, start to be better and actually cause a change (Like Framework Laptops, Fairphone, etc) we do actually have something to argue with. 

This is, of course, if you are actually interested in solving things and not just pointing fingers. 
 @7e344881 we can agree to disagree but I do believe that unfairness is a good metric for contribution capability. 

A struggling person should not have the same ethical responsabilities as one that lives in a constant life of lavish. 

Untill then I'm not judging anyone for not giving more. I do agree we should promote and strive for better solutions but punching down is NOT ok.
