Belief is significant to your life. Not belief in any one thing, but beliefs you hold that determine any one direction you take.
That said, with my utmost sincerity; Christ is King. The God of peace.
What a faith we have to follow, it brings so much joy and peace, more so than any other thing, person, or belief you could hold with you.
The significance and impact on your perspective it gives you is just.. insane.. So much so, that I'm willing to give my life here on earth away to tell you that it is the TRUTH, THE WAY, IT IS THE LIFE.
I was an atheist just over about a year ago. I too found these testimonies cringe. I just have nothing of more value to add here.
"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? How can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye."

I don't think those verses relate to judging another very well.
