Someone asked me why I think bitcoin is the only cryptocurrency I'm into. I told him it was the only viable currency that has no inflation.
He said that was a good answer.
Wallet of Satoshi is the easiest way if you don't live in the United States. Just send through sats to a WOS wallet. Then send the sats to a Bitcoin wallet from wallet of Satoshi.
Aqua Wallet is another option, but it has more fees.
One of my favorite scenes in is in the Citizen Four documentary:
Edward Snowden cloaks himself with a blanket to mitigate the risk of an over-the-shoulder attack as he types his passphrase into TAILS.
Yes, but think of all the people who talk about bitcoin on nostr vs. the people on nostr.
I'm pretty sure the nostr nerds like us hold their own keys, but I suspect most of the "Twitter/X BTC" people leave their sats on an exchange.
I tend to agree, but he's only been around for 4 years so I give him the benefit of the doubt. He might not be an Agent Smith. There's a good chance he's unaware of this threat.
It would be useful to me, but I 've been trying to get businsses to accept bitcoin for 10 years. I've only had like 3 people say yes.
There are tools that make it easy nowadays like the Strike plugin on BTCpayServer and Nostr Wallet Connect on Coinos.
Coinos is the easier option, but businesses that really want fiat can use the Strike Plugin to automatically convert the sats to USD(but I don't recommend this).
It's been a few weeks since I used Coinos. It's gotten 10X better. I've been trying to get a Brewer who uses Aqua Wallet to use a Point of sale for months.
He didn't want to use BTCpayServer with the Strike Plugin because he likes to see the sats go to his Aqua Wallet.
Is there an atomic swap (like boltz) if he chooses to auto withdraw to a Liquid address?
